Feeling dissatisfied with your job and thinking to quit? Well, in the near future your boss will be aware of that. Magic? Sci-fi? No, that is just one of the million different usages of big data. According to The New York Time a company called Workday is developing a software to predict if you are intending to leave the company, and evaluate the possibility of giving you a raise or suit you in another position to make you stay. For this to happen is necessary a lot of internal company information, including performance indicators. I hope this new technology will help lots of people getting extra money and being more pleasant with their jobs by feeling that they are finally being recognized for their hard work.

Nothing like a Dazzling experience

     That's no better way to spend your summer than acquiring experience and making new connections. As part of my program, I had to look for a co-op to aggregate some practical skills. After a few applications and interviews as well, I was hired by DazzleDeals, a discount coupon start-up company.

     As every position we have to face with some "required skills". Communication, Microsoft Office suite knowledge, strategic thinking and many more. In fact, what we can extract from a co-op is far more than just hard skills. In this new environment we learn how to deal in different situations, negotiate or approach people in different moods or behaviors.

     Last four months were filled with knowledge and practice. In a multicultural country like Canada, it is not a surprise that my bosses where not from here. For me that was one of the greatest points of season. Plus an amazing experience, I could learn more about other cultures. I confess that I felt a little bit shy and being pushed in the beginning, but in the end definitely was a gratifying result. Let's see what next summer has reserved for me.

    Unlimited problems will be solved improving our lives. Despite the scary name for some people, data is not to be feared, on the contrary, is something very fun which tell us a lot about the element we are investigating. Who knows what exciting uses of it the future save for us?
